Hand-ee Hints!

When knitting mittens for others, trace around the hand of the recipient to obtain an accurate measurement.
Mitten sizing is important as it is the inner air surrounding the hand that provides warmth. Making mittens too tight will not allow for this.
When re-joining yarn to work the thumb gusset, allow extra tail length for use later to close over any gaps created between the thumb and the hand.
Circular knitting may alter your normal ‘flat knitting' tension, so measure your tension swatch after knitting it in the round.
